What We Are...

Shreevanam was just a boring mono-cropped sugarcane field five years ago. It is today transforming itself into a vibrant diverse abundant tropical food forest.

Located in Bulandshahr; Just over an hour away from Delhi, it falls under the National Capital Region and well connected by a wonderful highway.

What We Do...

Our Project

Our Animals

Our Animals

This project has been a commitment to learning and growing with the land. We have had to plan the design, understand the soil and water, climate patterns, crop calendar and related sustainable systems that work to be off the grid.  We have created  systems for solar energy, bio gas, rainwater harvesting, grey water harvesting, seed saving, animal husbandry and growing more perennials.

Beejom began with animals, is about animals and run by them too. It’s at the foundation an animal sanctuary for domestic animals. We have many species of domestic animals who have come to us in various ways and now this is their forever home. They exist because it’s their right and contribute in myriad ways to make our farm what it is. We have chosen to be a vegan farm to honour them and also demonstrate that we can lead a very wholesome life without exploiting other species including trees and plants.

We have many rescued dogs of all breeds on the farm. They even have a lovely cottage called Dogpur. We have a cattery that is home for our cats, a cattle shed that houses rescued cattle, many rabbits, a duck and goose herd headed by iconic Tinku lal and some goats. They are all vaccinated and neutered. You will love to get to know them in your stay here.

Good Nutrition is everything. We now know this more than ever. Native homestyle cuisines are so wonderfully rich in nutrients without compromising on taste. Great produce rolls in from our food forest and fields all year long. We grow wheat, paddy, millets, legumes, oil seeds, spices, herbs and lots of vegetables; in fact everything that will grow in this great Gangetic basic where temperatures range from 0-45 degrees Celsius. The diversity is full of taste and flavour and colour. Every corner of India has a plethora of recipes with all sorts of seasonal produce and we try to bring it to the Shreevanam

  • Visit the beautiful Kuchesar Fort which is only a kilometer away. Situated on the fertile plains of Ganges basin, Aamod Mud Fort Kuchesar offers a glimpse of royal India.
  • The beautiful town of Garhmukteshwar in the Hapur district is one such place. It has the ancient Mukteshwar Mahadev Temple. One can also go boating on the Ganges and in good season sight the rare and wonderful Gangetic dolphins. As per ancient Hindu texts, such as the Mahabharata and the Bhagavata Purana, Garhmukteshwar was established thousands of years ago when the Hastinapur Kingdom was ruling the nation.
  • Bahnpur itself is a small quaint village that is frozen in time. It’s quite unbelievable that we are so close to the Capital of India. Vast fields, beautiful sunsets, woodfires, village houses and a hardworking community of people live here. The village goes to sleep at 8.00 Pm on most days unless there is a celebration and wakes up at the crack of dawn to a busy day. For those of you who want to experience the charm of rural life close to the city, this is the place.
